You can opt to play a full four years in college and continually develop your player before hitting the league, should you choose to do so, but I highly recommend taking the G League path.
I felt the storyline offered in the last-gen version of M圜areer was pretty tired and nothing we haven’t seen before, but next-gen 2K21 gives you options. So I probably won’t experience the city anytime soon.

You have to have a Rep level of Pro 1 before you escape Rookieville’s clutches, which means you have to play park games. One thing that has annoyed me to no end, though, is the fact that I have to be in “Rookieville” before I can go out and experience the city. And it was great to see some of the older casts of 2k main characters return (Jackson Ellis is BYKE, baby.)
The story was actually pretty good! Best one in years, in my opinion.
To try and give myself a different experience with the game, I took the G League route and I didn’t regret it.
